Margaret Mahy – El secuestro de la bibliotecaria (07-057)
When learning a language, children’s books are a great way to expand your vocabulary. Having bought this one as a gift, I still couldn’t resist the temptation of reading it first myself.
Aimed at children age six, the story is simple, but very amusing. A band of thugs decide to kidnap the librarian. And even though children might have never heard of the Stockholm syndrome, this is exactly what happens. The lady reads to the robbers, who have fallen ill. Obviously the medical encyclopedia from the library comes in useful.
The ransom is never paid, but the bandits are so happy with the bedtime stories, that she is released as soon as they are cured.
Great story, I really liked this story. I should read more children’s books.
