Day 10: A song that makes you fall asleep

One can take this caption two ways. The song is so boring, one falls asleep while listening or this is music I'd love to put up when going to sleep. I prefer the positive option.

Over the years many albums have served to fall asleep quietly. Early Pink Floyd, the psychedelic era of Talk Talk, extreme solo artist Budha Building, a solo project by a brother of a former colleague of mine. Neil Young, Tanita Tikaram, Lou Reed, Nathalie Merchant and Shakira have all served the purpose.

Yet when I discovered Portishead, the voice of Beth Gibbons took over as my favourite fall asleep voice. And when Portishead took a break, she found some members of Talk Talk (deja vu?) and made a brilliant solo album. From Out of season

Beth Gibbons - Mysteries

God knows how I adore life
When the wind turns on the shores lies another day
I cannot ask for more

When the time bell blows my heart
And I have scored a better day
Well nobody made this war of mine

And the moments that I enjoy
A place of love and mystery
I'll be there anytime

Oh mysteries of love
Where war is no more
I'll be there anytime

When the time bell blows my heart
And I have scored a better day
Well nobody made this war of mine

And the moments that I enjoy
A place of love and mystery
I'll be there anytime

Mysteries of love
Where war is no more
I'll be there anytime
